The Bible

I believe the Bible IS the ALL authoritative Word of God.  From Genesis 1:1 through Revelations 22:21 and all points in between.  IT IS THE WORD OF GOD! It is all authoritative for every area of life.  The Word of God is everlasting and thus does not change with time or with cultures.  It is the Word of God and always will be.  If the Bible shows us that something is a sin, it is a sin today and for the rest of time.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

The Trinity

I believe that the Bible reveals to us the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Three distinct Persons but One in essence.  In other words, what makes God, God, is found in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  They are not three separate Gods, but they are all the SAME ONE God (one in essence). Yet, there are three distinct persons in the Godhead.  Truly one of the great mysteries of God.

Romans 1:20; Colosians 2:9

The Coming of Jesus

I believe that the Bible reveals to us that God is going to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to rapture (catch away, to be caught up) His Bride, the Church, before God starts Daniel’s Prophecy of the 70th week.  The 70th week is a 7 year period of God’s wrath poured out on man for their sins and rejecting His Word.  The coming of Jesus, the Rapture, could be at any time.

1 Thessalonians 4:17; Matthew 24:32

Sin, Forgiveness and Salvation

Sin means to miss the mark, the standard.  The Bible shows us what God calls sin and what is acceptable to Him.

God created Adam and Eve, first humans, and they were without sin.  They chose in their own free will to disobey God, which is sin. They did not have to sin, but they chose to sin.

Genesis 3:1-6

The Bible shows us that because we all came from Adam and Eve, all humanity is born into sin.

Romans 3:23; Romans 5:14; 1 Corinthians 15:22

Because God is a just God, a righteous and holy God, He must punish sin. The Bible warns us of God’s judgment upon sin and the ultimate judgment upon sin is hell.

Revelations 20:15; Romans 1:18

The Bible shows that innocent blood must be shed to pay for the sins of guilty humanity.  In the Old Testament,   God allowed the blood of sacrificial animals temporarily to cover the sins of humanity, but their blood could not wash away their sins.  No human could pay for their sins or others because all of humanity's blood is tainted by sin.

Romans 3:10-12; Romans 3:19; Romans 5:12

The Bible shows us God’s great desire and love for us by sending His Only Son to die on a cross for all the sins of all humanity.  Jesus was born without sin.  Jesus was fully God and fully man.  This was possible because sin is passed to each person through the seed of Adam, the man.  Jesus’ father was God. Therefore Jesus’ humanity was through the seed of Mary and His divinity was from God the Father.

John 1:14; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus lived up to every requirement that God required of all humanity.  Jesus could have condemned us but instead He willingly became the sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. Jesus took our place! Because His blood was of humanity and sinless, innocent blood, it was complete payment for our sins.  Because His blood was divine, it could wash all the sins away in a person's life.

Romans 8:3-4; Hebrews 4:15

The Bible shows us that every human is born into sin and once they reach the age of accountability, they must repent of their sins and turn to Christ for forgiveness of their sins. This is done in faith.  In doing this,  forgiveness of sins is applied because of the blood of Jesus and their sins are washed away.   This is being born again.

Romans 3:23; John 3:3-7; Romans 10:9-10

If one does not repent of their sins and turn to Jesus for forgiveness,  they are still in their sins and forgiveness is not applied.

Luke 13:3,5; Romans 6:23

The Bible shows us that unless one is born again, they will NOT enter heaven but will be judged for their sins and sentenced to an eternity in the Lake of Fire. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. God is trying to remove people from going to hell.  Yet if one doesn’t receive Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as their personal Lord and Savior, they send themselves to hell.

Revelations 20:15; John 3:17-20

The Bible shows us that, because God loves everyone, salvation is available to everyone who will repent and call upon Jesus to forgive them of their sins and commit to following Him in faith.

Romans 10:9-10; John 3:16-21

Once one receives Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, they are to follow Christ’s command to be publicly baptized in water.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38

The Bible shows us that our salvation is secure in Christ and is conditioned upon our continued faith and obedience to God’s Word.

Hebrews 10:26-31

Invitation to be forgiven is for all

Inclusive is the invitation but exclusive is being an actual part of the Kingdom of God. The invitation to be forgiven of one's sins is open to all regardless of the nature of their sins.  Yet to be a part of the Kingdom of God and gain entrance into heaven and eternal life, one must repent of their sins, renounce their old sinful way of living and follow Jesus who IS and leads into ALL truth, which is the Word of God, the Bible.  Jesus gave a parable of the invitation being inclusive but also that being an actual part of the Kingdom of God is exclusive, meaning requirements must be met to be a part.

In Matthew 22 Jesus gave a parable of a King (representing God the Father) was having a wedding feast for His Son (representing Jesus Christ)  The King invited all those that were worthy, but they made excuses, made light of it and some even beat up the King's servants that came to give them the invitation.  The King was furious and sent His armies and destroyed them.  Then the King told His servants to go out and invite anyone and everyone good and bad to come to the wedding feast.  Once those invited came to the wedding the King went out to meet the guest.  He found a man without a wedding garment on.  The King provided wedding garments for all the guest and it was mandatory to wear the garment.  He King asked the man why he didn't have on his garment.  Remember the man was there by invitation but for whatever reason he didn't put on the required wedding garment.  The man was speechless.  The King immediately ordered this man to be bound hand and foot and cast into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Jesus said, "Many are called but few are chosen".

WOW! So the invitation to come into the Kingdom of God is all inclusive, open to everyone regardless of their sins.  Yet to actually be a part of the Kingdom of God you must have on the garment of salvation, meaning you must be born again.

The Holy Spirit

When one, by faith, repents, they are birthed to spiritual life by the Holy Spirit. Thus the term, “born again”.   All believers are spiritually birthed at salvation.

John 3:5-8

There is a separate work of God the Bible calls the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  In the Book of Acts, the Apostles looked for an initial (meaning the first) sign that a believer was baptized in the Holy Spirit because they spoke in other tongues unknown to them.  This is true for today.

Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5,8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:44-47; Acts 11:15-17

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be (by their lifestyle and words) a witness for Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:8; Acts 4:31

Gender

The Bible shows us that God made, male and female.  We did not make ourselves, God made us as He pleased.  God was not nor is not confused about a person’s gender.  The Bible shows that confusion such as this comes from the devil, lucifer, satan.  God made people either to be a male or a female.

Genesis 1:27; Genesis 5:2; 1 Corinthians 14:33

For one to try to change their biological birth is to defy God and make themselves their own god.  A person is born with either XX or XO chromosomes and that DNA of a person can never be changed for that’s how God created them.

Romans 9:20

The Bible shows us that God created a man to have desire for a woman and for a woman to have a desire for a man.   Thus all other desires are not of God nor approved by God.

Genesis 3:16; Romans 1:26-28; Jude 1:7

Marriage

The Bible tells us that marriage is between a man and a woman and there is no other God sanctioned marriage.  God created sex.  Sex is such a powerful, emotional and physical bond that is to be between a man and a woman and only within the covenant of marriage.  Sex outside the covenant of marriage God calls sin.

Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:15; Hebrews 13:4

Treating others

The Bible shows us that we are all created by Him, and we are to love one another regardless of the color of our skin.  We are to love all colors the same. Therefore, a born again believer and follower of Jesus Christ cannot be prejudiced.

1 John 3:14-15; 1 John 4:20; James 2:1-9

The Bible shows us that we are to love the sinner but not the sin.  Jesus did this. He loved the woman caught in the act of adultery and thus did not condemn.   The Bible shows us we are to love the sinner and speak the truth of God’s Word to the sinner and be motivated to do so by love.  Again Jesus showed us this with the woman caught in the act of adultery.  Jesus loved her enough not to condemn her but also loved her enough to speak the truth to her when He said to her, "go and sin no more".  In other words leave your sinful lifestyle and live a life pleasing to God.

Romans 5:6-8

Counter Culture

The Bible shows us that the follower of Christ will run counter to the culture of the World.  The Bible says that our values will not be those of the world. The world will not love the true followers of Christ but hate them.  Believers are living in the world, but we are called to not act like the world but as a representative of the Lord Jesus.

2 Corinthians 6:18-7:1; John 15:18-19; 1 John 3:13; Ephesians 5:11-16
