What benefits the pastor, benefits the congregation. What is a detriment to the pastor is a detriment to the congregation.
That is a statement that I know firsthand is true. This is the passion behind the Armor Bearer Ministry. To see the pastor supported and protected by their local congregation. When this happens the pastor is going to be more fruitful in their ministry and in turn the congregation is going to be more fruitful. Together they are more fruitful in their impact on their community. It truly is a win-win-win.

The stats are not good concerning the health of the average church in America and neither are the stats concerning pastors. Jesus said, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light". Yet, many pastors would say that ministry is NOT easy and the burden of ministry is NOT light. The Armor Bearer Ministry seeks to equip the local congregation to be a part of a spiritual shift in the local church.

There are not many ministries that help the local congregation see the Biblical expectation that Christ has for the local congregation regarding caring for its shepherd. Nor are there very many ministries that equip the local congregation to Biblically protect and support their pastor. I believe that most congregations would love to know those expectations. I believe they would love to know how to protect and care for their shepherd so their pastor doesn't become another statistic of burnout or worse.

Without question, there is a Biblical expectation for the pastor to bring care to the sheep. However, who cares for the shepherd? The Armor Bearer Ministry answers that question.
